Terms of Service
Age requirement: LitterQ is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using LitterQ, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age. Users under 13 are not permitted to create accounts or submit data through the platform. If you are under 18, please review these terms with a parent or guardian.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the LitterQ mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. About LitterQ
LitterQ is a waste reporting and collection coordination platform operated in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The Service connects citizens who report waste, municipal administrators who manage collection, and waste collectors (pickers) who carry out collection activities.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years of age to use LitterQ.
- Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use LitterQ only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent waste reports.
- Attempt to manipulate the points or rewards system.
- Upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or violates the rights of others.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service.
- Use the Service to collect data about other users without their consent.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
5. User Content
When you submit photos and reports through LitterQ, you grant LitterQ a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the Service. You retain ownership of your content. You confirm that any photos you submit are taken in public spaces and do not violate anyone's privacy.
6. Points and Rewards
The LitterQ points system is provided for community engagement purposes. Points have no monetary value unless explicitly stated in a specific rewards program offered by a participating municipality or business partner. LitterQ reserves the right to modify or discontinue the points system at any time.
7. Accuracy of Reports
You are responsible for submitting accurate reports. Submitting fraudulent reports, duplicate reports, or reports of waste that does not exist may result in account suspension and removal of points.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. LitterQ does not guarantee that waste reported through the app will be collected within any specific timeframe. Collection is subject to municipal resources and scheduling.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LitterQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to Terms
LitterQ may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by email.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
